MAT – Medication Assisted Treatment Program

A "whole-patient" approach to the treatment of substance use disorders

The MAT program is primarily used for the treatment of addiction to opioids. The prescribed medication operates to normalize brain chemistry, block the euphoric effects of alcohol and opioids, relieve physiological cravings, and normalize body functions without the negative effects of the abused drug. This approach is done in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a whole patient treatment aimed at full recovery.

For MAT patients full recovery puts them on a path to have the ability to live a self-directed life. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, this treatment approach has been shown to:

  • Improve patient survival
  • Increase retention in treatment
  • Decrease illicit opiate use and other criminal activity among people with substance use disorders
  • Increase patients’ ability to gain and maintain employment

This service is available for patients aged 18 and over. If you'd like to use the MAT Program, please call us at 888-381-3446 so we can help you through the process.
