Dr. Peter Cammans earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine in Florida in May 2023, before completing his pediatric residency at the University of New Mexico in June 2026. Prior to pursuing his career in

medicine, he taught Chemistry at Brigham Young University–Idaho—so if he occasionally gets a little too excited explaining the “why” behind things, now you know why. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he enjoys caring for families from a variety of backgrounds. Dr. Cammans, his wife, and their three children are excited to call Arizona home and become part of the Sun Life Health family.

Dr. Cammans chose pediatrics because caring for children and helping them become the healthiest, happiest version of themselves gives him energy and purpose every day. His experiences living in Mexico, caring for families from diverse backgrounds, and navigating his own child’s NICU stay gave him a deeper appreciation for the challenges parents face during uncertain times. Those experiences inspired him to become a compassionate pediatrician who provides not only excellent medical care, but also reassurance, education, and clear communication to help families feel informed and confident every step of the way.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cammans enjoys gardening, playing music, staying active, and playing just about any sport he can—although contact sports are where he draws the line (he prefers activities where the goal is not getting hit!). He also enjoys dancing, being creative, and spending time being silly with his three children, who keep life fun and remind him daily why he loves working with kids.
